Tomorrow it's "Sankta Lucia", a swedish tradition to celebrate Saint Lucy/Lucia from Syracuse. Pagan and Catholic tradition in a former Protestantic country.

The girls dress up in white long grandma nighties, with a lit candle in their hand. Except for the "Lucia" who walks first in the procession, who carries candles stuck into a wreath on her head. And they sing special Lucia-songs. Boys are dressed up as either as "tomtar" (Santas Little Helper – not the Simpsons dog) or as "stjärngossar" (star lads) or as "pepperkaksgubbar" (gingerbread men). This year Elliott wants to be a Christmas tree, but I'm not sure we can fix the costume in time. His friend Oskar wants to be a chair.

At the boys pre-school they've rehearsed the songs for tomorrows procession since early fall. A few minutes ago Adrian tried on his costume for tomorrow. As a typical Stjärngosse he wears a white robe with a coned shaped star hat. and a gold star on a stick. A strange mix between Merlin and the KKK.

Christmas 1942?

I've scanned and tried to restaurate some old photographs, that doesn't have any negatives left.
I thought this suited well since Christmas is coming up. My grandmother with dad in her lap. Looking at my dad's size I think it's Christmas 1942. A nice Tannenbaum in the background.

Tonight: Really Lost and Found

Finally found some letters I started on late one evening around Christmas last year. I've been trying to find the fontlab file, and now I found it in a folder looking for something else. The file was named with the unusual name " Untitled.vbf". The lowercase o and n are done , and the uppercase O, H & R. There's also an ugly e and a half-built a.

Now you who have followed this series of lost and found typefaces realise – just as I do – that there has to be a stop. I need to finalize one typeface before I come up with a new idea and start on yet another sidetrack. It's time to get finish a family. It's time to put on make-up. It's time to dress up right. It's time to get things started on the...

Mercury Nova

I'm going through many of my old fonts right now. Fixing points and curves.
Mercury is up for a renovation. It's been almost 10 years since I started on it, and I think I've picked up a few things along the way that will improve it. It will get a proper Bold (top) compared to Regular (old version, bottom).

Tea for two...

I look at these packages every day. I like the warm home made Latin type.
