Got this guide book with my new DV-camera.
Now – besides from the (b) being upside-down/reversed in example "B" – what's the difference? Could anybody help me?
It's driving me insane! Is there something that I don't see? Something very, very simple that escapes my eyes?
The paper also states that there could be irreversable damages if connected the wrong way. So now I could be in deep trouble...

I think they're just trying to say "don't put the plug in backwards."
Someone must have actively worked to make that more confusing than it had to be.
