Typeface after typeface

The last few years I have had problems finishing typefaces. I start on one idea, and the next day I get an idea for a completely different typeface. This time a superfamily, and I start working and then I get tired because I know it will take a year to get it all ready. ANd then I get an new idea...

So today I'm starting a series of weekly(maybe?)posts showing up some of these typefaces/ideas. Hopefully it will help me get going again.

First out is is: Metropolit

When in Malmö...

Malmö could very well be the "Falafel Capitol" of the world. You can't walk more than 50 meters before bumping into a falafel stand.
So where else could a family go a warm sunday after a few hours at the park playground?

E... nitial

Making a sandwich for himself (first putting on butter, and then Sweden's famous "Kalles Kaviar"), Elliott suddenly said "Look dad, my name!"

And yes there it was – his initial – written in lightly smoked cod roe from a tube.

Nice book

Passing by one of the used book shops on our way home I saw this beautiful book in the display. The type looks amazing.

Bottoms..eehr..buttons!

It's amazing that these has come back in fashion. Last time I remember wearing one was in 1982 and I was thirteen. A button with the Iron Maiden's monster "Eddie".

"Upside down you turn me..."

Got this guide book with my new DV-camera.

Now – besides from the (b) being upside-down/reversed in example "B" – what's the difference? Could anybody help me?
It's driving me insane! Is there something that I don't see? Something very, very simple that escapes my eyes?
The paper also states that there could be irreversable damages if connected the wrong way. So now I could be in deep trouble...

Christmas with Egon & the Bavaria Boys

I picked ups some old records a few months back. I usually get them for either the type, the images or the layout.
I was happy to find the one with the christmas tunes (Jul med Egon), since is was my favorite album as a kid. I think Onkel Egon was some sort of TV-show host, but I'm not sure. Nice weird collage. My mom's told me I wanted to listen to it all year around. I really can imagine me sitting in the living room sofa listening to christmas songs while it's in the middle of July, and hot as h*ll outside.

I love the one with beer & pretzels(=all you need to survive). And the Ravel typeface is amazing.

The other day we finally got our little publisher site up (yippie!)

Lotta's working hard on the sequel to "Prickigkorvmackatjuven", and on a graphic novel about the old days when we/she worked in the "IT-sector".

I'm a Plasticant

Lotta did get some of her old toys, back from when she was little, back. One of the toys were a set of plastic pipe pieces that you'd use to build a car or whatever. The brand is "plasticant". And I got flashback because I had the same brand when I was a kid.
Hmm... I need to get all those old toys out of my parents garage. It's not like they haven't asked me to come and pick them up for years now.
